India's Crown Jewel...

Have you ever been to a world class heritage site or natural wonder and gotten there and said “Oh, this is it?” – well this wasn't one of those times… If anything, this beat my expectations and really was something to take in. We went at dawn just catching the golden red sunrise as it swept over the Taj Mahal...

'Mahal' means palace in Hindi so you find many 'Mahal's dotting the tourist landscape, however this one really was one of the most wonderful buildings to see. There were also gardens on either side of the Taj Mahal which were filled with birds all sing (or squawking) unabashedly in the morning with hundreds of tourists milling around. It was a definite fun morning and we spent enough time to really get to look around and take some fun photos :)

Dun Dun Duuuun DUUUUUUN!!!

Yup, we were really there!

One of the arches.. the bird rather conveniently flew in :)

Yeah, not sure what I am doing - but the picture gives a good sense of scale!

AND, some wild life:

Parrots (super duper cute)

India Squirrel (don't let the stripes fool you!)

Dragon Flies

Matt looking cool with the "Taj"
