Chongqing

This town is where we got onto the river boat which would take us along the Yangze River for 4 days and 5 nights… Just a few pictures of a "small" Chinese city....

It is a port town as it is situated at the joining of the two major rivers in southern China. There is also a big chemical production industry – but no word on if it gets into the river…

Like most cities in China, Chongqing is seeing insane growth as the farmers are all moving into the cities... this is having an impact on the rural land as fields are now being left barren.. this means that China's desert is expanding and causing dust storms which only add to the problems with air quality...

High-rise Construction
This isn't the downtown center, this is a picture of the living areas within the city close to the river..
Street Vendor selling what looked like DELICIOUS pineapples!
(Nope, no mangoes!)
