Great Wall of China

Apparently being able to see the Great Wall of China from space is a myth... the Chinese sent astronauts up there and confirmed that they really couldn't see it. So, I guess that means we'll all have to go to China to see it rather than outer space...

The Wall, was pretty sweet. The wall has been on my bucket list, so that made it that much more special...

We went to a fairly touristy part of the wall, however since it seems like most groups which go to this spot are seniors tours Matt and I were able to out pace most of the larger crowds once we started climbing. It was pretty cool, but more from the idea of how many man hours it would have taken to build it and then, after all that, how many soldiers it would take to keep it manned.

One of the steeper parts we climbed
(Note: The railing at the top is knee height...)

It was hot and sunny out, however the wind that we managed to catch at the top of the guard towers kept us cool.. we climbed to the sixth station from the main gate... and it was worth it!
